Clear Advantage™ Respiratory Excerciser

The Clear Advantage™ Respiratory Exerciser is a flow-oriented, incentive spirometer. This device is used to help strengthen respiratory musculature and to help restore and maintain lung capacity in post-operative patients by encouraging slow, deep breathing. The color-coded balls in each chamber provide a graduated visual incentive for the patient. Air flow is vented into a single channel. As it passes through the chambers, it raises each of the three balls consecutively (depending on the volume inhaled per second). Patient progress is determined by the number of balls raised and the length of time they are kept suspended.
